Suchindram Temple – Venerated by Saivites and Vaishnavites!
Kanyakumari is a place where you can find places for both legendary people and divine Gods. Let me brief you about the place ‘Suchindram’; after reaching Kanyakumari, drive 13 kilometers with the same mode of transporation to Suchindram. Why Suchindram? Is that what your mind questions you? The temple in Suchindram, known as Suchindram Temple, is noted for its 18 feet big Human statue, musical pillars, especially the architecture and so on. You will able to grasp the tower of the temple as it majestically stands with an altitude of 134 feet. The facade of the temple is beautifully carved with sculptures and statues from Hindu mythology.
In this temple, we can see the three deities Shiva, Vishnu & Brahma which is said to be rare. The Suchindram temple has got a beautiful gopuram and a large teppakulam.
About 30 shrines to various deities within the temple complex, the large Lingam in the sanctum, the idol of Vishnu in the adjacent shrine and a large idol of Hanuman at the Eastern end of the Northern corridor represent almost all the deities of the Hindu panth
