Inaugurated on the August of 2007, the temple is situated on the southern end of the city of Vellore. Located on a nice location, the place is very peaceful. The salient feature of Sripuram is the ‘Vimaanam’ and ‘Ardha Mandapam’ of the Lakshmi Narayana Temple.
The star shaped pathway leads to the main temple. The temple is located on 100 acres of land and has been constructed by Vellore-based Sri Narayani Peedam, headed by spiritual leader Sri Sakthi Amma also known as Narayani Amma. The place is surrounded by lovely nature and the sculptures sculpted are at its marvel in architecture. The intricate work done by the artisans, are professional in building temple using gold, built the temple with gold covering, hence the name ‘Golden Temple’.
It is designed in such a way that every single detail was created manually, and then mounting into the copper foils. And then gold foils are mounted on the etched copper plates for 9 to 10 layers. The star shaped pathway sited in the middle of the landscape lengths about 1.8 km, and this pathway is known as the ‘Sri Chakra’.
The temple is very well maintained and the walk in the start shaped pathway is so divine. There are shops inside the temple which has got various collections. The ideal time to visit the temple is during the evenings, under the lights the temple looks surreal.
