Kanyakumari Devi Temple, Kanyakumari
The Kanyakumari temple is the abode of the virgin goddess Devi
or Adiparashakthi (an incarnation of goddess Parvati) and is a symbol of Sanctity. The story goes that Parvati was set to marry Shiva over here but as he failed to show up on the wedding day, Parvati decided to do penance and remain a Kanyaka. Kanyakumari is also famous for its Swami Vivekananda Rock memorial and the majestic statue of poet Thiruvalluvar. The nearby Sucheendram temple is also worth a visit. It features an 18 foot high hanuman idol, musical pillars and stunning architecture.
