Botanical Garden
Opened to public in the year 1826, this garden is still working in progress. Located at the south entrance of the city bus stand is this place, which offers a great place for you to walk, read a book, listen to the birds chirping and twittering.
The Botanical Gardens situated in the center of the city provides a cool retreat from the oppressing heat and humidity of Puducherry, which sprawls over a 22 acres of area. The garden was started in 1826 by the French colonists on an experimental basis to analyze the crops that could be cultivated in the region. Later trees were planted
Here you can just relax and listen to the sound of nature and explore the rich variety of flora here. Children get easily attracted to this garden is because of the ‘mini train’ and the ‘aquarium’.
I will have to warn you that this place has no room for parking you car, so plan well before you decide to come to this place. Six other fountains with a dancing fountain and a Japanese rock are the other attractions that you will find in this garden.
